WHAT:
Enjoy a one hour presentation by Dr. Grace Malonai on Clinical Considerations for Therapists of Gifted and/or Highly Sensitive Clients

  • This one-hour seminar will help clinicians recognize and understand characteristics of gifted individuals and highly sensitive people. Research findings that demonstrate the importance of recognizing these populations in clinical work will be presented. This session will also share aspects of the gifted and/or highly sensitive client experience, diagnoses most often seen in these populations, and provide a brief overview of theoretical orientations that work well with these populations’ particular challenges.

  • Social and network with other LPCCs, PCCIs, and graduate students!

  • This event is FREE, and we hope you will attend! Please register to attend the event.

  • If you would like to earn one BBS approved CE unit, you must also register at the CALPCC website for the event. The fee for one BBS approved CE unit is $10. (please note that we welcome you to attend this event with or without registering to earn the CE unit).

WHERE: 
Our July event will be held at member's home. The location address will be emailed to you when you register for this event. Please RSVP to receive the address. Registration is FREE! (the $10 fee only applies if you would like one BBS approved CE unit)

The nearest BART station is Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre Station. It is one mile from the host’s home. If you let us know ahead of time, we can coordinate a pick-up at approximately 6:15pm.

  • NEW: We now offer a learning opportunity and/or presentation at most East Bay events!! Some events, like this one, may also offer BBS approved CE units.

  • MEETING TYPES: What is the difference is between CALPCC East Bay Region’s Regular events and Mentoring Circle events? Essentially, our regular events are for networking, socializing with others in our profession, and discussing matters that impact LPCCs and PCCIs, and our region. Mentoring Circle events offer mentoring support to all participants. Each type of event provides networking, learning, and social opportunities. Please contact Grace or Heather with any questions.

  • UPCOMING EVENTS: We generally meet the 2nd Friday of each month. Please save the date for upcoming events! Our August CALPCC East Bay regional event will be in Richmond on the second Friday in August (August 11, 2017). Our September CALPCC East Bay regional event will be in Berkeley on the second Friday in September (September 8, 2017).

  • POSSIBLE INTERN HOURS: If you are a registered as an intern with the BBS, professional events that offer informal training may count towards your non-counseling hours of experience, under the category of Workshops, Seminars, Training Sessions or Conferences, as long as you have approval from your clinical supervisor.** Please note that CEUs are NOT offered for this meeting.
**See Statutes and Regulations Relating to the Practice of: Professional Clinical Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Educational Psychology, and Clinical Social Work by California's Board of Behavioral Sciences, Statutes & Regulations, Section 4999.46(D), which states: "(D) Not more than 250 hours of verified attendance at workshops, seminars, training sessions, or conferences directly related to professional clinical counseling that are approved by the applicant’s supervisor."
