CALPCC Presents: Treating Anxiety and OCD During COVID-19 with Dr. Brett L. Johnson, MD, of Rogers Behavioral Health


This presentation will explore the challenges COVID-19 presents for clinicians treating patients with anxiety disorders, including OCD. When understood, the unique opportunities may prove beneficial for patient care—providing practical tips on treating anxiety during this time. Discussing evidence-based treatment, CBT, and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), and altered ERP for the telehealth environment modifying therapy due to social distancing.

After the workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Develop practical tips for clients needing to manage anxiety disorders and OCD during a pandemic

2. Analyze the rationale for evidence-based treatment of anxiety disorders using case studies

3. Implement changes to the treatment of anxiety due to social distancing and learn how to treat OCD in a virtual setting successfully
