Continuing Education Policies

Last updated: June 14, 2023

CALPCC is pleased to be a Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) - credentialed Continuing Education Provider, #5081, pursuant to Section 1887.4.3.

We offer Continuing Education courses and units for CALPCC members and nonmembers alike. Members receive discounted pricing and invitations to certain exclusive-to-members CE events.

Who qualifies for our continuing education units (CEUs)?

CALPCC is authorized to award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to licensed LPCCs, LMFTs, LCSWs and LEPs only.

At this time, our CEUs cannot be applied toward initial licensure or toward the renewal of other licensures not listed above, with 3 notable exceptions: Associates may apply new Telehealth, Law & Ethics and Suicide Prevention CEUs toward their renewals. Normally, our CEUs apply to LPCCs, LMFTs, LCSWs, or LEPs only as required by the BBS.

Our CEUs only apply toward renewal of California licensure, and cannot be applied toward renewing or initial licensure in other states.

Licensed therapists from out of state seeking California licensure: our CEU courses can be applied toward already-licensed LPCCs, LMFTs, LCSWs and LEPs from out of state seeking their California licensure.

We offer continuing education units in 2 different ways:

Designated live events:
Our live CE events include conferences, symposia and presentations--both in-person and online, in real-time.

Procedure to receive CEUs for our events:

Make sure to register and select the "CEU" option (if provided as a separate option), for any given event. Some event registrations provide a separate price and add-on option for CEUs.

Your registration must include your license number, for us to include on your certificate(s).

You must attend the event(s) in order to receive CEUs for that event. Anyone entering a session 15 minutes late, or later, will not be eligible for earning CE credit for that session.

We provide an evaluation link for all CEU events. You must submit an evaluation within the designated timeframe (usually 2 days) in order to receive CEUs for that event.

► We will email you your certificate(s) within 60 days of live events. Only those who have completed each of the above steps will receive certificates.

Through our online CE catalog - anytime!

Our CE Catalog courses at education.calpcc.org can be taken at your own pace and convenience. Our system automatically and instantly issues certificates to your CE Catalog account, which you can download at any time.

Please read our FAQ for more information.

Refund Policy
Continuing Education fees are nonrefundable, with a few exceptions. Please see the policy stated on individual events and see our
refund policy for more information.

CALPCC's Responsibilities
