Join us at Puesto Mexican Restaurant, located at 1040 W. Katella Avenue, Anaheim, CA 92802, for a thought-provoking CALPCC community gathering centered on cinema therapy and the Inside Out films. These movies offer a surprisingly rich framework for exploring themes such as emotional regulation and the role of primary emotions, internal “parts” and inner dialogue, similar to Internal Family Systems; developmental transitions and identity formation; and the adaptive role of emotions like grief and sadness. They also highlight how visual storytelling can be a powerful psychoeducational tool for clients. This event is designed to be both intellectually engaging and socially enjoyable, giving members the opportunity to connect with fellow clinicians, exchange perspectives, and explore how film and storytelling can enhance therapeutic work with children, adolescents, and adults. Attendees can expect casual networking with CALPCC members, food and drinks available, a thoughtful discussion about cinema therapy and emotional storytelling, and the opportunity to connect with counselors from across Southern California. Whether you are passionate about expressive approaches to therapy, interested in integrating media into sessions, or simply looking to connect with colleagues in the community, we hope you will join us for an afternoon of meaningful conversation, connection, and a fresh perspective on the psychology of storytelling.
CALPCC members and friends are invited to join us for an engaging in-person gathering that blends community, conversation, and clinical curiosity.
